Bingham Davis House (at 218 E Maxwell Street) is the administrative home of the Gaines Center, and offers a well-equipped space for seminars, meetings, retreats, and small classes. The ground floor consists of:
- the Seminar Room - this bright space, with AV capabilities, seats 16 conference-style, 22 if utilizing additional seating at the back of the room; this room can also accommodate lecture-style seating for up to 30 people
- the kitchen - a fully-functioning kitchen with oven, stove, microwave, fridge/freezer, and Keurig coffee maker
- the hallway - an attractive front-to-back hallway with polished wooden floors and a double-height ceiling (boasting a crystal chandelier)
Entrance to the front of the property is via red-brick steps; the rear entrance complies with UK's accessibility guidelines. A four-cycle rack is conveniently located to the side of the building and is shared with Commonwealth House.
The Gaines campus abuts the Memorial Coliseum (Joe E Craft) parking lot. Public, metered parking is available on Lexington Avenue, and the Student Center parking lot (open to the public) is located just a short walk away.
